As a joint initiative between The State Government, Toowoomba City Council, and Jondaryan Shire, the Charlton Wellcamp Integrated Employment Area consists of 1,000ha, intended to become the future major industrial area of the region. This area will act as a transport corridor and multi-modal freight hub.
It is anticipated that the development will be built to world's best practice utilising the concepts of industrial ecology in industrial processes.
Strategic location at the nexus of the Warrego, New England and Gore highways will allow the area to be a gateway for western, southern and eastern freight - having the capacity to capitalise on its strategic location as a freight and transport terminal of national significance.
