The Battle of One Tree Hill took place on September 12, 1843 and was fought between the Jaggera Tribe (Multuggerah was the leader of the tribe) and the white European settlers. The Jaggera tribe fought to protect their sacred land from the settlers making their way inland from Moreton Bay, known now as Brisbane.
The Jaggera Tribe tried to stop the settlers from trespassing on their land by ambushing sheep and supplies, and the settlers retaliated. Multuggerah and his tribe sought refuge on the top of One Tree Hill, where sadly Multuggerah was killed.
